OSSHD Expands Reach in Setit Humera Zone through Gondar Branch Office

In a significant step towards enhancing community protection and support, OSSHD, in partnership with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), successfully kicked off a collaborative project funded by ECHO in the Setit Humera Zone and Mycadira Town. The kick-off meeting was convened with key stakeholders, including Zonal representatives, Setit Humera Town signatory bodies, local administration leaders of Mycadira, and representatives from NGOs such as IMC, MTI, COC, and NRC. The meeting focused on aligning efforts to ensure complementarity and avoid duplication in areas like Community-Based Protection Networks, child-friendly spaces, and family reunification. OSSHD continues to build a robust network of partners and stakeholders committed to delivering impactful humanitarian interventions in Wolkayt, Tegede, Setit Humera Zone, and Mycadira Town. Following the meeting, OSSHD’s Gondar branch began engaging stakeholders and coordinating with UN teams to strengthen collaborations. Program and administrative staff were deployed to support field operations. Temporary office space was generously provided by MTI, alongside DRC staff, while the local government committed to providing a rent-free permanent office to support ongoing activities.Besides, Volunteer recruitment was completed in collaboration with the WCYSA office, with formal confirmation pending, ensuring strong community participation in the project.
