About DESSIE BRANCH OFFICE

Established in 1993, three years after the Head Office was founded, the Dessie Branch Office has been actively working across the Eastern Amhara and Afar regions through various projects to fulfill the organization’s vision, mission, and objectives. It has continuously served the community through these initiatives. The Dessie Branch Office is currently a member of the Tsinat Integrated Holistic Development Partnership (THIDP), a member of the Dessie City Administration GO-CSOs’ steering committee, and also serves as a CSOs’ representative. The branch currently has 18 staff members, including 3 females. At present, the branch is implementing two projects.

Immunization program through outreach-campaign at habru

OSSHD Dessie Branch in collaboration with local health authorities and community stakeholders successfully conducted, immunization outreach campaign in Habru Woreda, North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region. The campaign aimed to increase immunization coverage among children under five and reduce the risk of vaccine-preventable diseases in remote and underserved communities

Catch up campaign in Selamgai Health Center, Tsagebji Woreda,

A catch-up immunization campaign was conducted at Selamgai Health Center in Tsagebji Woreda, Amhara Region, with the aim of reaching children who had missed routine vaccinations. The campaign focused on delivering essential antigens such as Pentavalent, OPV, Measles, and BCG, targeting children under five years of age. Health workers, in coordination with local administrators and community volunteers, mobilized caregivers and ensured efficient service delivery through static and outreach strategies. This effort helped close immunity gaps, improve vaccination coverage in the area, and contribute to the prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases among vulnerable populations.
