DDA Assessment/Evaluation for Co-financing Support to OSSHD DD Branch
The Dire Dawa City Administration recently assessed the OSSHD Dire Dawa Branch, reviewing its performance in health systems, youth engagement, and community services. The evaluation confirmed OSSHD’s strong impact, especially in supporting vulnerable groups. In recognition, the administration committed to co-financing the branch’s activities—demonstrating a shared vision for sustainable, community-driven development. This partnership strengthens the link between local government and civil society, supporting OSSHD’s ongoing efforts to expand outreach and enhance service delivery. OSSHD deeply values this collaboration and remains committed to working together with the city to improve health and social outcomes in the Dire Dawa community.

Mass Mobilization / Mass event participation
The OSSHD Dire Dawa Branch actively implements mass mobilization and large-scale community event participation programs as part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness about HIV prevention and care. These events serve as strategic platforms for reaching a broad segment of the population, especially youth and vulnerable groups, with critical health information and services. During these gatherings, the branch provides on-site HIV testing and counseling services, ensuring confidentiality and professional support. These initiatives not only promote early detection and linkage to care but also reduce stigma and encourage open dialogue about HIV, ultimately contributing to healthier, more informed communities.

PWD Material Distribution : Wheelchair and Crutchs
As part of its commitment to supporting persons with disabilities (PWDs), OSSHD Dire Dawa Branch organized a targeted material distribution initiative within the city. The program focused on providing essential mobility aids, including wheelchairs and crutches, to individuals in need who face physical and economic barriers. This initiative aimed to improve the quality of life for PWDs by enhancing their mobility, independence, and ability to participate in community life. The distribution was carried out in close coordination with local authorities and disability associations, ensuring that the support reached those most in need and aligned with broader inclusion and equity goals.
